Cardiff Play Survey

Cardiff Council's Children’s Play Services are conducting a big play survey as part of the Cardiff Play Sufficiency Assessment.  This survey collects information on what opportunities children and young people have for accessing play and playing out, gathering the views of children and young people directly.

The results of this survey will provide information to the Play Sufficiency Assessment, which will ensure a full and detailed picture of what is needed to improve play opportunities, for children and young people in Cardiff.

To enable Cardiff Council to achieve this, please can all pupils/parents complete the survey below?  The survey will close on Monday 31st January 2022 and is available in both Welsh and English. Please click on the link below to access the survey.

Half-termly Overview Class 3 Spring Term 2022

Blwyddyn Newydd Dda bawb! Happy New Year, everyone!

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday.

We would like to thank you for our very generous Christmas gifts. It was extremely kind of you all.

We are really excited about our new theme of The Celts! We have lots of exploring and learning to do and can't wait to discover more about their time in Wales/Britain, about the Roman invasion and about how they used to live.

Please see the Termly Overview for further information.

Half-termly Overview: Celebrating Space/Dathlu'r Gofod

Welcome to Class 3 and Key Stage 2!

Croeso i Class 3 a Chyfnod Allweddol 2!

It is very exciting that you are now in Key Stage 2!  You are having a wonderful first week, settling in and learning all about how we work in Class 3. Wasn't it good to see everyone again? Mrs Westlake and Mrs Matthews are so happy to have you in Class 3. blush

We are so impressed with how you are adapting to our routines, including playtime, lunchtime and home time. Excellent work, Class 3! yes

Information for the start of term:

  • Weekly 'to-dos' are set on Purple Mash which include chapters of a book to read as well as other homework tasks. Of course, you can read your own books at home too. You should do some reading at home every day, as well as the reading you do in school.

  • You can bring your own pencil case to school, equipped with coloured pencils, rubber, ruler, writing pencil and felt tips if you like. We will not be writing with a pen quite yet - that will come later in the year.

  • Outdoor PE is on Monday. You should wear your trainers to school for this.
  • You will be going outside for playtime/the daily mile/fresh air every day, so you must bring a coat to school each day.
  • Our theme for the first half term is Don't Stop Me Now which focuses on the theme The Human Body. What fascinating Body facts can you find out to share with the class?
  • We are focusing on our multiplication tables this term. Revise the 2x, 5x and 10x tables and begin learning your 3x and 4x tables. Your Purple Mash to-dos will reinforce this.

Well done to you all for settling in so quickly. We look forward to lots of fun and learning as the term progresses.
