We had a wonderful first week, settling in and learning all about how we work in Class 3. Wasn't it good to see everyone again?  Mrs Wellington is so happy to have you in Class 3 and Mrs Westlake is looking forward to meeting you soon. 

We are so impressed with how you are adapting to our routines, including playtime, lunchtime and home time. Excellent work, Class 3! 

Important information for the start of term: 

• Reading: Reading books will start to be sent home this week. Please bring these to school every day, together with your Reading Record book. You may change your books as soon as you have finished reading them. Please read at home every day and make sure someone at home fills in your Reading Record book at least once a week.

• Spelling Practice: Each week on Friday, you will be given your homework book containing your weekly spellings to practice at home. Spelling are provided on specific hand writing lined paper for you to practice your hand writing as well. In the front cover of the book you also have a note outlining different ways you can practice your spellings with your family. This does not need to be done in the book but purely to encourage as much practice as possible. The book needs to be returned to school by the following Monday ready for your test that week.

• Pencil cases: You may bring your own pencil case to school, equipped with coloured pencils, rubber, ruler, writing pencil and felt tips if you wish. We will not be writing with a pen quite yet - that will come later in the year.

• PE: Outdoor PE is on Tuesdays and indoor PE is on Fridays. You come to school in PE kit with trainers on these days. We also complete a daily mile every day and adventure trail time in the afternoons, weather permitting. 
• Coats: You will be going outside for playtime/the daily mile/fresh air daily, so you must bring a coat to school each day.
• Theme: Our theme for the first half term is Colourful Communities Around The World! 
• Times tables: We are focusing on our multiplication tables this term. Revise the 2x, 5x and 10x tables and begin learning your 3x and 4x tables.
