Reception: Miss Hogg

Spring Term Overview of Intended Learning, and Homework Activities Grid

Welcome to Reception!

This is our class page where you can find the overview of activities to be covered each half term! Our first Inquiry will be 'Colourful Communities Of The World', where we will be exploring the communities we belong to, and what other communities around the world look like!

For your information:

- Our indoor PE day will be Monday, and our outdoor PE day will be Friday.

- Children are required to bring a drink of water or weak juice, with a piece of fruit for snack time each day.

- As we enjoy playing outside in all weathers, it may be useful to pop a change of clothes in your child's bag, incase we get a bit wet!

- Please ensure that your child brings a coat to school, as we will still play outside in the rain.

If you have any questions or wish to contact me at anytime, my email/contact form can be found below! smiley

We are so excited to work with your amazing children in the coming academic year!

Miss Hogg, Mrs Sims and Miss Teague.

Spring Overview 2023

Autumn 2022 Overview - Reception

Hello and welcome to Reception's 22/23 class page!

My name is Miss Hogg. Mrs Sims and I are looking forward to an exciting year in reception!

Our first topic is going to be 'Cynefin'. This is a Welsh word that means a place where you should be, where everything around you feels right and welcoming. We will be learning lots about ourselves, our communities and the local area!

I will be posting updates on the class TEAMS page (which will be set up very soon!) I will leave instructions on this page on how to access this, once the team is set up and ready to go!

Your child's PE days will be Tuesday and Friday, so please send them to school in their PE clothing (i.e. trainers, shorts/joggers/leggings and the blue school polo shirt).

The children have been enjoying their snacks before playtime, so please continue to send fruit/vegetables and a bottle of water in to school. Could you kindly ensure that anything you send to school is labelled with your child's name, including jumpers, cardigans, bags, lunch boxes, bottles and snack pots - this will help us to locate any lost items.

Please make sure you have completed the collection form (or emailed the school office) with collection arrangements, so that we recognise and are aware of who is picking up your child each day.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email me at hoggk7@hwbcymru.net, where I'll be happy to help where I can. smiley

Many thanks for your welcome and support so far!

Miss Hogg and Mrs Sims.
